Howdy! My name is Sayah Lee from the Center for Population Health and Aging at Texas A&M University. I am writing to share about an important research study we are conducting on diabetes. Our study focuses on helping people manage type 2 diabetes through education, and we are recruiting participants who are at least 25 years old with type 2 diabetes, whose A1c level is at least 7.5%, and who can read and speak English. There are no medications provided in the study. Everything is done virtually and is free for eligible participants. We would like to ask for your support in sharing about our study to the people in your listserv and network and really to anybody who may benefit from this opportunity in Texas. To give you more information about the research project, the name of it is Living Healthier with Diabetes, and we are trying to examine what kind of education is most effective for people with type 2 diabetes. We are currently recruiting participants with type 2 diabetes, who will be invited to attend online diabetes self-management education and support sessions and/or to download and use a smartphone app for diabetes self-management education and support over 3 months. Please note that everything is done online and eligible participants can receive up to $200 in electronic gift cards. The hope is that the results of this study will provide a better understanding of how diabetes self-management education and support benefits people with type 2 diabetes. We believe some folks may truly benefit from this opportunity (or refer us to those who may), especially those who are struggling to manage their diabetes but don’t know where to start. Thank you for your support. Sincerely, Sayah
