January 2022 Networking Lunch

January 11 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm CST

$35.00 – $40.00

Dr. Robin Page is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with current certification as a Nurse Midwife. As a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala, she worked closely with pregnant women, new mothers, children, and families. Dr. Page’s focus is maternal health disparities, particularly stress and preterm birth, and depression and anxiety in maternal mental health.

Dr. Page is an Assistant Professor at the Texas A&M College of Nursing. She will be talking to us about her experiences and her role as the Principal Investigator for the newest program of its type in Texas:  Nurse-Family Partnership @ Texas A&M (NFP@TAMU).
NFP@TAMU is a community health program keeping children healthy and safe, and improving the lives of mothers and their babies.

Better worlds start with great families.

BONUS: Last month, you selected Patriot Paws of Aggieland to receive a Member Vote donation. We are delivering on that promise. On Tuesday, you can meet 3 officers of the organization and their guests – 3 service-dogs-in-training.

Join with us for another “can’t miss” episode of Houston Aggie Women Networking Luncheons.

HOUSTON AGGIE WOMEN is a key resource for Aggie women, friends and family.  We connect the Houston Aggie community through networking, education, and giving back.

Our events are OPEN TO ALL – men and women, Aggies and Non-Aggies – anyone needing a little boost.

Second Tuesday of every month – networking starts at 11:30 a.m., lunch from 11:50 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Join us for good food, good conversation, and an interesting speaker – sometimes an Aggie, sometimes not, but always interesting.

Afraid you won’t know anyone there?  Bring a friend!

Can’t find a friend to bring?  Don’t worry!  In a room full of friendly Aggies, you’re bound to find a conversation to join.  And with our wide range of Class Years, you’ll probably find someone with a Class Ring just like yours.

My focus is maternal health disparities. I have explored protective factors against preterm birth in Mexican origin women, in particular, those with low levels of acculturation. One aspect that I am giving particular attention is religiosity/spirituality as a buffer against stress. I am using telomere length as a biomarker for stress. I am also interested in perinatal mental health and community-level interventions to increase access.
